WoCa Lunch awarded Brigitte Gilles Prize

The number of students in computer science has doubled in the last 10 years; many female students come to Aachen to study computer science or a STEM subject. However, fewer opt for a subsequent doctorate.
To make this career opportunity more visible, UnRAVeL members Erika Ábrahám, Christina Büsing, Helen Bolke-Hermanns together with Kaja Koehle (GSB), have launched the initiative WoCa-Lunch.
WoCa stands for Women Career, and as the name suggests, interested female students meet with the WoCa team for lunch and look at the career path of doctoral studies from different perspectives. The impulses are provided by women who report on their doctorates and their lives and are open to questions.
The RWTH Brigitte-Gilles committee found the idea and its implementation so convincing that the WoCa team was awarded the prize this year and presented with it as part of the RWTH-wide RWTHtransparent event.
