Increasing traffic, deadbeat infrastructure with corresponding traffic congestion and environmental pollution are frequent candidates for daily news and displeasure. One approach to tackle these topics is an autonomous shuttle fleet. Such a shuttle fleet has the potential to decrease traffic congestion in city centers by substituting individual traffic but simultaneously increasing the mobility of all inhabitants. Operating such a fleet causes several optimization problems in design and management. Since such a system does not exist for Aachen yet, we try to gain some information about how customers will react to service parameters via simulation. So we try to minimize the uncertainties a fleet provider has to face before enrolling such a service.
