Gerhard Woeginger has passed away

Deeply dismayed and filled with great sadness we have to announce that our UnRAVeL member and principal investigator Gerhard Woeginger has passed away on April 1, 2022, far too early after a severe illness.

UnRAVeL loses with Gerhard an outstanding researcher and teacher who was characterised by his love and fascination for science, his sense of responsibility towards his doctoral students, his collegiality and his commitment within our RTG.

We will enormously miss Gerhard's scientific advice, his openness, his friendliness and kindness, his reserved and unconventional manner with which he never put himself in the foreground.

We will keep him in memory forever.
