Abstract:

The Elisabeth line in London has been opened up in May 2022. This high-frequency line runs between Reading and Heathrow in the west and Abbey Wood and Shenfield in the east. To ensure the acceptance of this line through the passengers, passenger transport has to have a high reliability. As disruptions in rail-bound traffic often cannot be as easily bypassed, reactions to these disturbances have to be planned to reduce the influence onto the passengers.

This work implements a decision support tool for possible amendments to comply with already known future disruptions. These amendments aim to decrease the influence of disturbances onto the passenger traffic of the Elisabeth line. For a disrupted traffic, the amendments are chosen which reduce the pre-defined penalties for changes in the timetable of the line.

In this work, schedules are modeled with the help of event-action networks. The model has been implemented and applied to the traffic on the Elisabeth line for different scenarios.
